This is the part of "Food at Your Doorstep" where I'll be offering Freebie Recipes. Bear with me, since I've just started. I hope to have all my fabulous ethnic food recipes featured eventually. Being that I am a cook and a teacher, what better thing to do than share my secret recipes with the world and try to teach you how to do it? Besides, having my recipes online guarantees my not losing them anymore, right?! Don't you hate when you lose a really good recipe? I hope you don't mind that all the recipes on this page are not ethnic, even though ethnic food is what this site is about. They are some of my favorites that I want to save. I've cooked since I was 10 years old, have won quite a few contests, had some formal training and worked in the business off and on my entire life. I have retired from my teaching career to pursue my two passions...cooking and jewelry making. I love cooking so much, I sometimes cook all day long and don't even have anyone to eat the food! So if you're ever hungry...you now know where you can find dinner! 411 Woodl.... I'm extremely interested in the culture of food and now that I have the time, I'm able to aggressively study what the various cultures eat and how they prepare their food. I have travel plans in 2008 where I'll be able to gain "first hand" knowledge of the anthropology of food. Aside from ethnic foods, my other area of expertise is foods that are homemade, homemade, homemade! I can offer many freebie recipes that are as close to the bare earth as possible. I RARELY eat anything prepared. As far as McDonald's goes, I get sick on it! If I could, I'd milk my own cows, grow my own veggies, and churn my own butter. I'm extremely adventurous as far as food is concerned and I'll try anything at least once, except that I doubt if I could eat an insect.
