Build a Website Now! Build a Fun Website!

Believe it or not, on October 1, 2007. I didn’t know the first thing about how to build a website. Now I actually have TWO websites up and running! Don't make fun of my websites, though. Remember, I just started! I still have a lot of work to do, but I have great plans for them and I can't imagine how this could be done so easily, without knowledge of how to do it.

Initially, my vision was to build a fun website featuring food delivered to your door. The idea came to me when I decided to order various foods online, like foods I've seen on the food network . The first thing I did was get on the web and do a google search. I found food items, but they were scattered everywhere. I thought, “wouldn’t it be nice to build a website now with food delivery services all in one place?” Sort of on the line of how the food network visits all these places, talks about their food and then tells you how to order it.

Since that's what I proposed to do, I put an ad in Craig’s list looking for someone to build a website and the cost to build a website was unbelievable! I thought I could build a website easily by hiring someone and I was so close to plunking down thousands for a 5 page website. I didn't know at the time that these 5 pages would be useless.

Fortunately, I had many questions and didn't just jump into it. I realized that if I hire someone to build a website now for me, how do I maintain: make changes...add things, delete things, etc.? Also, how would I photograph all the food. I know food photography is very tricky.

The website builders offered to do the photography for a “nominal” fee of $50 - $100 and hour. I didn't mind paying the fee, but she was not a professional photographer. How would she photograph food when she's not professionals. And how was I going to make all that food in a day or two for her to photograph? Good thing I thought of these things. The third problem was, “how do I publicize my website?”

One day, out of the blue, I just decided to go ahead and build it myself. I have never failed at anything I ever tried to learn, so why wouldn't I be able to do this, myself? So I plugged into Google...this time..."How to build a website." There, I stumbled upon Site Build it! I was so lucky with what I found, because most of the offers on the internet are fraudulent. They offer things they don't deliver or they take your money and just disappear. I have since read numerous articles about the horrors of scammers.

Of course, I didn't know any of this when I first started out. Obviously, I am not web savvy. Still learning! But fortunately I made the right decision because "Site Build It" is the real thing. I have searched the web relentlessly and can't find a negative thing said about "Site Build It". This isn't a get rich quick deal either, though. You can build a website. Now, it's lots of hard work, but so much fun and so worth it to me. I like the idea that I can go on vacations, sit on the beach and still be at work!

I am so glad I decided to build a website now and all on my own. I took the plunge and am I glad I did! I have learned so much about how to build a niche website, I still can't believe it! As far as I'm concerned, the cost to build a website now through SBI is worth every penny. If you look around on the web, you'll see that so many of my pages are on the top ten in Google. Where do you think I learned how to do that? From "Site Build IT!" There's absolutely no point in having a website if no one finds it. I thought I was going to have to do lots of advertising and PR work. No....Site Build it takes care of all that for you.

Now, I know my websites are far from perfect, but I did this without knowing ANYTHING about how to build a website. But now I have a website that I can maintain on my own. Can you imagine having to call someone (and pay them) every time you want to add something, delete something or make a change?
